Pallavi’s Journey

Pallavi Photo 1

Pallavi is a woman of many passions. She is the founder of her own successful children’s clothing brand ( Littleorhni.com ) has worked as a model, is a qualified London School makeup artist, and is also a passionate cook and baker.

Her love for cooking comes from her mother and grandmother — women who, despite having help and support at home, still love getting into the kitchen, cooking for their families, hosting, and surprising their loved ones with food. That love for feeding people and bringing everyone together around a table has always stayed with Pallavi.

Having lived abroad for nearly 12 years, Pallavi has always loved experimenting with food. Being exposed to different ingredients, cuisines and cultures gave her the freedom to explore, create and constantly try something new.

Alongside running her full-time clothing business, she has continued to nurture her love for cooking. She has attended cooking courses at Le Cordon Bleu and continues to take cooking classes whenever she gets the opportunity.

Today, she is also an Instagram creator, sharing snippets of her life — from motherhood and cooking to travel, marriage, relationships and everything in between.

The Next Chapter

With her younger child heading to university next year, Pallavi feels she is entering an exciting new chapter. She plans to pursue a longer-term culinary course and, someday, hopes to open her own baking shop — one centred around organic, wholesome food made with real ingredients.

Through all these different chapters, one thing has remained constant: her curiosity to learn.

Pallavi considers herself a keen learner, and it is this constant desire to learn, experiment and grow that keeps her going.

What Inspired Pallavi

When I was making so much effort to put healthy, homemade food on my family’s table, I suddenly asked myself — why was our bread still coming from outside?

And withmy own struggles with gut health, I started wondering: if I’m going to make bread at home, why not make one that’s wholesome and kinder to my gut?

That’s when I discovered sourdough.

Honestly, I had always thought sourdough was some kind of Einstein-level science! I never even bothered to understand how it was made. But once I finally learned the process, I was completely shocked by how simple it actually was.

The only thing sourdough really demands is patience.

And today, I can’t tell you how proud I feel serving a loaf of bread that I’ve made from scratch to my kids, my husband, and anyone who walks through our door.

We are so particular about the food we eat every day — our dals, chapatis, vegetables and everything else we put on our plates. So why shouldn’t we be just as particular about our bread, when it’s something so many of us eat every single day?

That question started my sourdough journey. And somewhere along the way, it became Sourdough Mama.
